Mr. Dorn, L.S.
has more than 30 years of diversified professional surveying experience on recreational, commercial, residential, utility, and transportation
projects. As Director of WHGAs Surveying Department, he oversees and directs the work of six field crews
and an office computing staff of eight surveyors that produces all final survey deliverables. In addition, he manages the firm’s
Subsurface Utility Engineering Department that determines the location of existing utilities required for design and/or construction
projects. Mr. Dorn’s surveying experience includes boundary, topographic, GPS control and utility as-built surveys, as well as preparation
of legal descriptions, land record research and plat preparation. He has also provided expert witness testimony in court cases
involving land boundary disputes.
Mr. Dorn attended Purdue University and graduated in 1976 with a B.S. degree in Land Surveying and has
been with the firm since 1983. Mr. Dorn's professional affiliations include the Virginia Association of Surveyors, Inc. (VAS) and
the Engineers and Surveyors Institute (ESI). He is a licensed land surveyor in Virginia, Maryland and New York.
